Hey gals and guys! Week two is complete and it’s time to reflect:
- How well do you feel you completed the requirements of the week’s assignments?
- What gave you trouble? What did you enjoy most? What did you learn?
- What would you do differently? What questions to you have?
- What are some of the larger issues surrounding your work? Cultural/Societal implications?
I feel that I have done an okay job in completing this weeks assignments. I tried to start earlier in the week and get things done. However, I was supposed to fly Chicago on Saturday and missed my flight and things became very hectic. I was unable to complete a fourth daily create and had some issues with my twitter account on my phone.
The (GIF) gave me some trouble because I had to try a few things and believe I was making it way too complicated for myself. I was indecisive about which movie to choose and then I wanted to find something perfect quality (which didn’t happen). I also spent way too much time looking at YouTube tutorials. Overall, I think I overwhelmed myself. Now I know how to make a GIF though! Which is exciting because they really liven up a blog post! I also enjoyed playing around the with look of my Blog. I think I have settled on a final look and I have added a “photography button” on my menu and I also updated my ABOUT ME section and it turned out simple but cute because I added a few icons.I also installed many of the plugin and widget packages. I want to do something with the Flickr Plugin in the future but at this moment i’m not sure what pictures I want to include and where I want it to go.
I wouldn’t really do anything differently this week other than interact more with my peers. My main issue is that I am now in Chicago and the computer I am using here doesn’t allow access to twitter and I am very pressed for time. I only did 3 daily creates and I have them all on my Twitter (@pgrusski) but I can’t access Twitter from this computer I started off the week well and was on top of my assignments. I don’t have any more trips planned so the remaining weeks should be problem free.
The reflections (CAMPBELL) & (WESCH) I wrote were a direct reflection of the issues our society faces now. All of my work that I have done this week is a further reflection on how little I know about our digital world because making a simple GIF was difficult! I don’t feel that it is proper to go and berate people if they are not very digitally literate, but I feel that we should remind people how important it is to stay up to date and thrive in the digital world. I hope to become more knowledge-able and inspire people around me to create and connect online.
